Sauna Adventures is committed to contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We have identified three specific SDGs that align with our mission and have developed a game plan to meet these goals:

     • Renewable Energy: Invest in renewable energy projects and encourage the use of renewable energy sources.

     • Awareness Campaigns: Conduct awareness campaigns to educate guests and staff on the importance of climate action and ways to reduce their carbon footprint.

3. Goal 15: Life on Land

   • Game Plan:

     • Habitat Preservation: Support and participate in local conservation projects to protect natural habitats and wildlife.

     • Sustainable Tourism Practices: Promote eco-friendly tourism practices that minimize the impact on natural environments.

     • Biodiversity Education: Educate guests on the importance of biodiversity and the steps they can take to protect it.

Policy Statement

Sauna Adventures is dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint through continuous improvement in our operations and practices. We aim to integrate environmental considerations into all aspects of our business, from the planning and execution of our tours to our day-to-day office activities.

Objectives

1. Reduce Waste: Minimize waste generated by our operations through reduction, reuse, and recycling of materials. Encourage our staff, partners, and guests to participate in waste reduction efforts.

2. Conserve Energy: Reduce energy consumption through efficient practices and the use of energy-saving technologies, including monitoring and managing energy use in our offices and promoting energy-efficient transportation options for our tours.

3. Sustainable Sourcing: Source products and services from suppliers who share our commitment to environmental sustainability, including choosing eco-friendly products, supporting local businesses, and selecting partners who adhere to sustainable practices.

4. Protect Natural Resources: Protect the natural environments in which we operate by respecting wildlife, preserving natural habitats, and minimizing our impact on ecosystems. Educate our guests on responsible behavior and the importance of conservation.

5. Reduce Carbon Footprint: Reduce our carbon footprint by promoting sustainable transportation options, offsetting carbon emissions, and supporting renewable energy initiatives. Encourage our guests to consider their own carbon footprint and provide options for carbon offsetting.

6. Promote Environmental Awareness: Raise awareness about environmental issues among our staff, partners, and guests by providing information and training on environmental practices, promoting eco-friendly behaviors, and supporting environmental education initiatives.

Actions

1. Waste Management: Implement comprehensive waste management practices, including recycling programs, composting organic waste, and reducing single-use plastics. Encourage the use of reusable items such as water bottles and bags.

2. Energy Efficiency: Upgrade to energy-efficient lighting, heating, and cooling systems in our offices. Encourage the use of public transportation, carpooling, and biking for staff and guests. Promote the use of energy-efficient vehicles for our tours.

3. Sustainable Procurement: Develop a sustainable procurement policy that prioritizes eco-friendly products and services. Work with local vendors and suppliers who have demonstrated a commitment to environmental sustainability and ethical practices.

4. Environmental Education: Provide training and resources to staff on environmental best practices. Educate guests on the importance of conservation and responsible travel through pre-tour briefings, informational materials, and guided discussions.

5. Carbon Offsetting: Calculate the carbon footprint of our tours and office operations. Invest in carbon offset projects that support renewable energy, reforestation, and other initiatives that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

6. Community Engagement: Partner with local environmental organizations and participate in community initiatives that promote sustainability. Support and sponsor environmental events, clean-up activities, and conservation projects.

7. Promoting Local Vendors: Utilize local vendors for supplies and services to support the local economy and reduce transportation emissions. This includes sourcing food, equipment, and other necessities from businesses within the community.

8. Encouraging Foot Tourism: Promote tourism on foot by organizing hiking and walking events. This not only reduces carbon emissions but also allows guests to experience the natural beauty of the areas we visit in an eco-friendly manner.

Monitoring and Reporting

We are committed to regularly monitoring and reporting on our environmental performance. This includes setting measurable goals, tracking progress, and making necessary adjustments to our practices. We will review and update this Environmental Policy annually to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
